Sister Shanti Newton

Sister Shanti… A personality as peaceful as her name…

She belonged to a family that taught her the morals of humanity, of love and of patience. As she grew up she could not better saw herself gel in with any profession that matched her upbringing too. Alas! “Medical” it was, and she finally knew it. Her humbleness and caring nature could not have been better nurtured in any other profession. In early 70’s she joined Civil hospital and completed her General Nursing along-with the Midwifery from Lady Duffrin hospital, and leaped to a career she always dreamt of. She had a vision and a strong inspiration from the very renowned “Florence Nightingale” and wanted to carry that light which could shine forever. Her marvelous and remarkable efforts and services have left a prominent mark in the domestic medical industry and she owned a very respectable name. Throughout her medical career she met and treated many patients, old and young, men and women, bed ridden and disabled, and never could one see a glimpse of hatred or tiredness on her face, all what one could see was her Beautiful healing smile. She was also one of the best nurses Sister Alemo had on her list and was famous to handle challenging patients. Sister Shanti Newton was awarded a life time achievement award by her community and grew her recognition in the society even more. Though with age and sickness she was not able to look after her patients herself, she decided to run an agency which could facilitate her prestigious patients with highly qualified and skilled staff. Till her last breath she kept faithful and kept the ownership to the oath she once took in early 70’s that “she will practice her profession faithfully and with loyalty she will devote herself to the welfare of those who committed her care”.

To keep her vision alive we have carried her light forward.  Welcome to “DEKH BAAHL
